Welcome to AWANA!

We are glad that you have decided that Harbour Lake Baptist Church is a place where you and your child can grow in the Lord. We are sure that our AWANA Club will be a place of learning and excitement that will have a positive influence on your child.

The AWANA program is divided into several age groups ranging from 3 yrs. through 8th grade. A typical night is divided into three parts:

1.   Handbook Time

2.   Game Time

3.   Large Group (i.e., Council) Time

AWANA offers several opportunities for your child to grow spiritually through scripture memorization and a basic understanding of biblical principles and doctrines.

AWANA also provides an opportunity for children to learn to compete as a team and not just as individuals. They will learn to win and lose with the proper attitude of fair play and sportsmanship.

Your child will bring home a booklet which is the first step in AWANA achievement!  We hope you will help your child complete this booklet within the next few weeks.  After completing this booklet, your child is eligible to earn more awards and purchase his/her uniform as a member of AWANA Club.  We want to work with you in providing balanced physical, social, mental, and spiritual activities for your child. We ask  for your support in encouraging your child to complete their handbook materials before each club week. This way we will have the time to show them how to apply what they have learned to their everyday lives.

We would also appreciate your timeliness in dropping off and picking up your children. AWANA Club meets on Sunday afternoons at 3:30 pm and ends at 5:30 pm. Please have your children at AWANA between 3:15 – 3:25 pm for them to check-in in our Education Building before our Opening Ceremony. Children need to be picked up at 5:30 pm in the Sanctuary.

It is the goal of Harbour Lake Baptist Church to provide a healthy and safe environment for all children.  Parents are encouraged to be considerate of other children when deciding whether to allow their child/children to participate in HLBC programs when they are displaying symptoms of communicable illnesses.  Children who are observed to be ill will be separated from the other children and the parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up their child/children.  Additionally, children must be fever and vomit free without medication for 24 hours before returning to any activities.

In closing, if you currently do not have a church home, we invite you to visit with us at Harbour Lake Baptist Church.  Sunday School meets at 9:30am with classes for all ages.  The worship service meets at 11:00am.  We also offer Children’s Church for your children up to 5th grade.  For more information, please contact the HLBC office at 843-797-2982.  We invite you to come as a visitor and leave as a friend.

Thank you for allowing us to acquaint you with the AWANA ministry of Harbour Lake Baptist Church, and how it can benefit not only your child but the entire family!

In service to Christ
